This is Charlie and Kohl. Kohl is the black lab mix and Charlie is the Cocker Spaniel. Both are rescues! When Ryan and I were not even married two weeks we found Kohl at the Norfolk SPCA. He was a tiny little thing and was barking his head off at us and for some reason we fell in love with him. He was so small and we were told he wouldn’t get bigger than 35 lbs. Well we kind of knew better, but we went with it anyways and he is now a lovely 85lbs. He is all talk. Really, sometimes it’s like he is trying to talk to us. Sometimes he can sound pretty scary, but that’s okay. I feel really safe with him protecting our house.
Charlie was a different story. He was found as a stray by family members and came to live with us after living with them for a year. We did not fall in love with him right away. He really needed to see a vet and get cleaned up and while we were still thinking if he should stay or we should find him a good family we took him to a vet and got every shot and got him fixed. He was dirty and humped everything in site. I really did not like that. Once we got him fixed and clean, his personality started to come out. He was very cuddly, and loved to chase birds. He hates the vacuum and doesn’t like to leave my side. He would sleep in my lap all day if I would let him.
This past winter was a long one and we have let Charlie’s hair get really long. If you follow me on instagram (@daniwhitephotography) then you have seen just how crazy fluffy he is. On friday he finally will go to Care-A-Lot for a shave down! It will be a big transformation! Follow me on insta to see more!!!
So that’s the story on our fur babies! I don’t blog about them much mainly because they most exciting thing about them is the different places they sleep all day. They may not be too exciting, but we love them and are great companions!
This was Kohl when we first got him!
Kohl was 5 lbs when we brought him home. He then grew to 85lbs!
His naughty face.
This was a common event when he was a puppy!
Even though he was naughty as a pup, he is a sweet and caring big brother.
Charlie when we first found him. And Charlie on a normal day.
Both dogs are great big brothers to Gracie. She can do whatever she wants and they will let her. Charlie is the one that runs away more often and Kohl just sits there.
