I always love exploring new places with couples! Richmond Virginia offers so much and my couples seem to find the perfect nooks and crannies in this city! From city life to the outdoors there is always something! Lea and Alex definitely wanted the outdoors. It just fits them and who they are and they knew this perfect park was for them. I had never heard of it, but it was a blast to explore!
Forest Hill Park
Forest Hill Park is historic and in the heart of Richmond. It has been many things in the past. According to Richmondgov.com it was once a quarry, and estate and an amusement park. It is known for the Historic Stone House which was the home of the amusement park manager and now can be rented for events and meetings. It is very cute and offered a great backdrop for this session!
The park is very open, with trails winding around a restored lake, play ground and tennis courts. When I have sessions in fun places like this the whole family comes and this time they brought bubbles and foam airplanes. The kids had a blast with Ryan while I worked and we got to spend the afternoon together.
Lea + Alex
I first met Lea when she was a bridesmaid for her sister Kelly’s wedding at the gorgeous Carlyle House in Alexandria Virginia. Then I got to meet Alex when she was a guest at Adam and Allie’s wedding in Charlottesville. I am so excited to do another wedding with this amazing group of people and see these two have their day as they have attended and loved on so many other couples. I don’t know what he said to her all those times Lea would crack up laughing in the middle of a pose, but he it obvious he gets her.
They have been together through so much and for so long. From high school, then a brief break up and then finding each other again and supporting each other through school and career. They have worked hard and know each other through and through. They will make one strong marriage and I am sure, laugh all the way for many years to come!
