Way back when Heather attended a small group that my friend and I led at our church for young women. She was quiet and sweet, but listened and would ask great questions. After we stopped meeting I got to see Heather from time to time and we would connect again. She was always something I enjoyed running into! Then when Megan and Aaron had their wedding day, Heather was the maid of honor and Ryan was the best man, I got to watch them meet for the first time! I had no idea they actually had never met, and from that day they started dating, Ryan moved to our area from South Carolina and then they got engaged! It was kind of like watching a chick flick come to life!
Of course Williamsburg made the perfect setting for this wedding. Williamsburg Baptist Church is the big, gorgeous church right across the street from William and Mary. I have always wanted to see it on the inside and walk around in the gardens. It was a quiet and intimate space, perfect for sweet moments like their first look, and when Heather got to see her dad, step dad and uncle (this is one LOVED girl)! After the ceremony everyone met at Heather’s uncle’s house which was all dolled up for the reception. And this was a first: they had PANCAKES for dinner! Heather and Ryan went to breakfast and had pancakes for their first date, so this was a fun way to celebrate their story! Pancakes on the first date, and little did they know that almost 2 years later they would be eating pancakes at their wedding! Seriously, like a chick flick come to life! There was a bonfire and dancing on the deck under a ton of beautiful lights. Also, this wedding gets the award for BEST toasts given by the best man and maid of honor! The best men had me crying laughing, and the maid of honor rewrote the words to Ice Ice Baby and rocked it! I’m still so impressed that she memorized all that! It was a beautiful backyard wedding!
I am so happy for Heather and Ryan! They were so happy and loved, and the whole day was joyous and fun!
Congrats Heather and Ryan!! Happy new marriage!
Thank you so much to Diana Gordon Photography for being with me and also for being awesome!
