There was something about the light on this day. I can't put my finger on it but Maymont in Richmond was more glowing and sparkly than ever, and the funny this is that I never shoot mid-day, but for this shoot I had to. This session started at 10am! Katie and Ryan came ready to brave the cold. They drove all the way from Maryland, but this cold had nothing on them. Of course, they got to spend a little over an hour holding each other pretty tight, keeping each other plenty warm.
Maymond is Stunning
...and I should shoot there way more often. It takes some planning and maybe not the best for some times of the year due to some rules, but if I can, I will definitely be recommending this location to bride and grooms for future engagement sessions. It is classy, well kept and historic, which fits so many different couple's personalities. My draw to it is just how classic it is. I love manicured gardens with stone walkways, hanging ivy on the walls of old buildings and cobble stone driveways for horse-drawn carriages. I mean, COMMON! Perfect!
Richmond, Virginia
Richmond was the perfect meeting spot for both Ryan, Katie and I. They had a little bit of a drive further than I did but they made a weekend of it and had a good time. I have always said that if you are going to dress up for this occasion then make it extra special with a nice dinner, or day date. You will spend at least and hour cuddling and staying close so take advantage of the situation. We are here to celebrate the relationship anyways!
