Washington D.C. Engagement Photographer
This was an early morning and it was worth it! Driving through Washington D.C. with that early sun and it was just so quiet, that made me fall in love with it! Anneke and Kevin are planning their oceanfront wedding, but I love that they are documenting this short stage of life together in this beautiful city. It was crazy cold but Anneke looked completely warm next to Kevin. We started with Union Station and enjoyed that gorgeous D.C. architecture, then we headed for the Jefferson Memorial. Someone had mentioned that the cherry blossoms where blooming. That was not true and so disappointing! The festival was pushed a few weeks back because it has been so cold here and taking forever to feel like spring. I think most of you reading this knows exactly what I am talking about. We saw so much of D.C. and I am super jealous of the photographers who will get to shoot when it is warm and the blossoms are out. We learned that their are 2,000 cherry trees and they surround the monuments in such a grand way! I will have to come back and see them!
I never realized how much I love marble and stone architecture! I've been to Philly, NYC and Charleston in the last year for shoots, and they all have their character, but I really love D.C. and honestly I was surprised I liked it so much. I guess as a girl from Hampton Roads I think of D.C. as being expensive and to have terrible traffic. While both are definitely true, it was fun to run around and enjoy the good things this city has to offer.
Anneke and Kevin are sweet, fancy and high achieving. They are passionate about their work and their future marriage! I can't wait for their ocean front wedding!
