Washington D.C. Engagement Session
Ethan and Lauren's Washington DC engagement session
Lauren + Ethan
Lauren saw Ethan one Sunday morning sitting alone in their church. She decided to introduce herself and the rest is history for them. Here they are now, engaged and excited for marriage! Ethan is a hard working Military man, and Lauren works for a not-for-profit in the heart of DC. They both are funny, fashionable, classy and tremendously passionate. I am so excited to see these two get married!
The Washington DC Engagement Session.
We did this session on a Wednesday morning. Once I arrived I soon realized that I have never been to DC in the middle of the work week while Congress is in session. Boy, I may never come back! It took me a good hour to find a parking spot that I was comfortable with and then I had to walk (run because I was late) a mile up the winding parking garage back to the street.
THANK GOODNESS Lauren and Ethan know this place and it's quarks. They were able to pick me up and drive me to the RIGHT location to begin their Washington DC Engagement Session. I was so disheveled from driving around, avoiding the 20-somethings in suits walking in every direction, that when I finally parked I was a good mile and a half away from the location we were meeting at. I sweat a little thinking back to this moment.
Ethan, the real deal.
Ethan drove us safely to the Library of Congress where we were greeted with LOADS of people, and unmarked black SUVs swerving and honking. We got through security and then my neck became permanently stiff vertically because I stared straight up at the amazing views of the Library of Congress. I'll be honest that I didn't know we had a Library of Congress before researching for this session. I have to go back on a less crowded day and just enjoy it. It was amazing inside and out.
A tour of DC!
After some time with the LOC we walked a few blocks to the Russell Senate Building. Not sure how touristy this place is, but it was so pretty. It was like I was in West Wing! It also seems to be the hub for all those suited 20-somethings I almost hit on the way in. Of course we grand finaled at the Capitol. Lauren even got a security guard to allow us 60 seconds at the half-way point of the steps for a closer view. She is such a go-getter. I thought when she went to ask she was going to get the stink eye and a big fat NO, but this guy was so kind! It's because of her smile, I am sure of it!
I don't do DC adventures often, but I am very glad for this one! Congrats Lauren and Ethan and thank you for allowing me to capture you Washington DC Engagement Session! I can't wait to celebrate with you in September!
Location for this shoot: Library of Congress, Russell Senate Building, US Capitol.
