Williamsburg Wren Chapel Wedding
Williamsburg Wren Chapel Wedding
Katie and Robbie's Williamsburg Wren Chapel Wedding is finally on the blog!! I know, I'm a few months behind, but this wedding is one of my favorites, so I needed to get it up!
The Bride and Groom
I’ve known Robbie for a little while now I guess she can say. I honestly can’t even remember when I first met Robbie or how old he was. Feel like I’ve known him most of my life. Our families have gone to the same church for as long as I can remember and Becky, Robbie’s sister, has been a good friend of mine for a while.
She’s just always been that friend that even if I didn’t see you for a long time, we would still get together and talk like no time has passed. She is genuine and kind and Robbie is a lot like that too.
Actually, when I was first started learning photography I took Robbie‘s senior portraits. That was about 10 years ago! His parents have always been very supportive of me and so encouraging in my photography journey. I’m so thankful for them!
When I started talking with Robbie and Katie about capturing their wedding day my heart was full of love and appreciation. I was honored to capture this day, and thankful for their support. I've always been encouraged by them!
Robbie and Katie were guests at a wedding I did a few years ago (you might remember Kelly and Bobbie!). That was when I first saw them together as a couple. Robbie is a fun guy, and has always been, so I knew whomever he dated would have to keep up. Katie can definitely keep up! They perfectly compliment each other!
A Tour of Williamsburg's Finest
Robbie and Katie‘s Williamsburg Wren Chapel wedding was every bit of classic and elegant, just like they are!
I call this "A Very Williamsburg Wedding" because we hit some major places in Williamsburg that are a favorite. Getting ready started with the girls at the Williamsburg Winery at the Wedmore place. The bridesmaids twirled in their long lavender gowns. Katie gave them all sweet little gifts (from my personal favorite) Dear Mushka.
Robbie and the guys got ready at Kingsmill Resort not too far and then met us for portraits and Robbie and Katie‘s first look.
Making It Official
I will never forget Robbie repeating over and over, “I’m so lucky” when he saw Katie for the first time on that day. And I actually agree with Robbie, he is a lucky guy because Katie is an amazing woman and she looked spectacular in that dress!
After portraits Robbie and Katie headed to the Wren Chapel to say their vows and it officially became husband-and-wife. It’s early November, and the leaves were just at that bright, fiery orange and red stage. The sun was a perfect, golden glow.
The rest of the party happened at the Kaplan Parish where Robbie and Katie were surrounded by friends and family, and danced the rest of the night. Of course who could forget the donuts? Instead of a traditional wedding cake Robbie and Caitie had a wall of donuts that were irresistible.
I’m so thankful for these two, and look forward to seeing them grow as husband and wife through the years. I’m always humbled and honored when friends ask me to capture their wedding day! Congrats to the newlyweds!
A special thank you to Sarrah Verraque Photography for being my "other eyes."
